Senior Financial Analyst - Sales & Marketing

King of Prussia, PA

We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst - Sales & Marketing to join our team! The Senior Financial Analyst - Sales & Marketing will be responsible for performing analysis, forecasting, and reporting of the company's revenue across all lines of business. The person in this role will function as the lead analyst in partnership with Sales leadership and Sales Operations, monitoring pipeline, sales, and variable sales compensation, identifying business trends and drivers, and recommending actions. The candidate will lead the development and ongoing execution of monthly/quarterly financial reporting and analytics, and executive presentations. This role will also be responsible for working with the Sales and Marketing leadership team in planning, analyzing, and managing the expenses and investments of the Sales and Marketing teams. This position works closely with the Director - Financial Planning & Analysis and Sales leadership to provide data, analysis, and recommendations to realize the company's strategic goals as part of the annual strategic planning process. Additionally, this role will play a key role in leading and supporting key strategic initiatives and projects across the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, prepare, analyzes and reviews sales pipeline and financial reports on a weekly/monthly/annual basis. Develops reporting requirements, identify anomalies, trends, and necessary analysis.


  • Tracks sales performance by sales rep and calculates payout according to sales compensation plan; forecast payouts at varying levels of plan achievement.
  • Develop operating expense plans in conjunction with senior leadership. Tracks operating expense and headcount plans and actuals, reports on and investigates variances to plan and historical actuals; updates, forecasts, and recommends plans for action with leadership.
  • Analyze and report trends in product loss ratios and renewal rates.
  • Prepare analysis and presentations for quarterly board meetings.
  • Research and analyze competitors and industry trends.
  • Conduct monthly close analysis for Finance meeting.
  • Create Monthly Financial Report for Executive Committee (Exco) distribution.
  • Create/maintain balanced scorecard - collection of financial metrics.
  • Develop and provide Bupa schedules.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis and build financial models to inform the team on operating strategies, investment recommendations, and new business opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; MBA or other advanced degree or certification a plus.
  • At least 7+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or other analytical roles.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, business process and procedures which may include technical expertise in a functional area.
  • Distinctive problem solving and analysis skills, combined with impeccable business judgment, excellent project management skills, and ability to communicate effectively with a senior leadership team.
  • Experience performing complex financial modeling and analysis.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple assignments and changing priorities.
  • Excellent people skills and dedication to preserving a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Advanced excel skills are required.
  • Experience working with Salesforce.com, Adaptive Insights or other reporting and planning applications preferred.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
  • Employee is required to have at minimum an internet speed of 75 Mbps (standard high-speed internet access).

Working Conditions:

  • Flexibility to work in an office and/or at-home, remote office environment.
  • Schedule flexibility is occasionally necessary in this position. Individual may be required to attend key business/departmental meetings and/or perform certain business critical job functions outside of normal working hours.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to communicate internally and externally through receiving and responding to auditory and visual methods.

Internal Pay Grade: 10

The starting pay for this role is $66,023 to $84,179 based on skill level and experience in a similar role.
